JGU Mainz offers excellent public transport connections. Multiple bus and tram lines serve the campus. If you are arriving at Mainz central station (Hauptbahnof\/Hbf), the best way to reach the campus is to exit through the West exit.  From here, a \u201cshort-distance ticket\u201d (Kurzstreckenticket) is sufficient and cheaper than a regular ticket and available for purchase from bus drivers or at ticket machines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can plan your route to campus in just a few clicks using the Komoot route planner. You can even access individual destinations on campus. Komoot determines the most suitable and fastest route for cyclists, taking smaller streets and avoiding cobblestone surfaces wherever possible. If you don\u2019t own a bicycle, you can register with Mainzer Mobilit\u00e4t and rent bikes at numerous stations in and around Mainz. There are bike rental stations at the central train station and on campus, along with many other locations.<\/p>\n\n\n<\/jgu-base-accordionitem>\n\n\n \n\n

These directions will take you to the main gate (Hauptpforte) of the university. The main gate leads you onto the campus grounds. Free parking is available for one-time visits; regular visitors require a paid parking permit. Please see the section \u201cParking on and around the campus\u201d for details. Follow the A60 highway through the interchange Autobahn-Dreieck Mainz toward Darmstadt, take the Mainz-Finthen exit, then follow signs for Saarstra\u00dfe\/Innenstadt straight through the Europaplatz roundabout, take the Universit\u00e4t exit (first exit after the Europaplatz roundabout). At the traffic light, turn left toward the university, then take the next left.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coming from the east (from W\u00fcrzburg\/Darmstadt):<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Follow the A66 highway and merge onto the A643 toward Mainz at the interchange Schiersteiner Kreuz, then follow the highway to the interchange Autobahn-Dreieck Mainz, where you merge onto the A60 toward Darmstadt. Take the Mainz-Finthen exit, then follow signs for Saarstra\u00dfe\/Innenstadt straight through the Europaplatz roundabout, take the Universit\u00e4t exit (first exit after the Europaplatz roundabout). Parking on the university campus is generally available for specific groups, including people with disabilities (particularly mobility impairments), residents of student housing on the campus grounds, and others. Due to the large number of staff and students but only a limited number of parking spaces, parking on campus requires a paid entrance permit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Continue by car: Follow signs toward Ludwigshafen to the interchange Nahetal Dreieck, then take the A60 highway toward Mainz.
