Policy
<\/strong>Students who register for an examination must participate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Failure to appear, late submission, or withdrawal without a valid reason counts as \u201cfailed (5.0).\u201d
(section 20 subsection 1 of the Bachelor\u2019s Examination Regulation (BAPO), section 19 subsection 1 of the Bachelor\u2019s Degree Examination Regulations for Teacher Training (POLBA), section 24 subsection 1 of the Magister Examination Regulations (MagPO))<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83e\ude7aInability to take an examination due to illness
<\/strong>In case of illness, a medical certificate must be submitted to the respective Student Advising Office\/Examination Officeimmediately<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The certificate must attest to the inability to take the exam. A standard sick note (\u201cArbeitsunf\u00e4higkeitsbescheinigung\u201d) is not sufficient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The withdrawal must be reported before the exam begins or before the submission deadline expires.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The medical certificate must be submitted within three (3) days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Starting with the second instance of inability to take an exam due to illness:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can choose between:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

an official medical certificate (\u201cAmts\u00e4rztliches Attest\u201d)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

a qualified medical certificate (describing the symptoms and the effects on your ability to perform)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Equivalent medical certificates:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hospital medical certificate (\u201cKrankenhaus\u00e4rztliches Attest\u201d)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Certificate from a licensed psychologist or psychological psychotherapist<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please note<\/strong>: Many faculties have their own medical certificate forms<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Certificate for FB 01, 02, 05, 06, 07, 08, 09, Arts, Music, State Examination Office for Teacher Education

\u267f Disadvantage compensations for disability or chronic illness
<\/strong>Students with a recognized chronic illness or disability may apply for disadvantage compensations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Possible measures: For example, writing time extension, submission deadline extension, individual examination<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The application must be submitted through the Student Advising Office (approximately 4 weeks) before <\/strong>the exam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/strong>Students with documented dyslexia (not merely reading\/spelling difficulties or \u201cLese-\/Rechtschreibschw\u00e4che\u201d) may also apply for a disadvantage compensation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/strong>Serious illness documented by a medical certificate<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Obvious illness, such as an accident or hospitalization<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sudden personal tragedy, such as the death of a close relative within one week before the exam\/submission deadline<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Victim of a crime<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unexpected, severe personal hardship:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Loss of housing<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Illness of dependent relatives in need of care (with documentation)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No alternative care available (e.g., for children)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u274c Medical grounds generally not recognized
<\/strong>Chronic conditions, unless in acute, unforeseeable episodes (such as MS, rheumatism, psychiatric illness)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
